Member Overview
RASMAS is much more than an alert tracking service or logistics add-on solution. It is a membership community comprised of people who work in healthcare and people who value safety. While we started as a service to keep recalled items off the shelves in healthcare organizations, we have evolved to a community of front-line practitioners who make safety happen in the healthcare supply chain every day.
Shared Knowledge
Before RASMAS, those who served in the healthcare supply chain and in recalls worked alone, and did not share information. But with the advent of RASMAS, the person in a warehouse, pharmacy, E.R., hospital receiving dock, shipping area or nursing station suddenly became part of a large, nationwide network of 17,000 people who exchange best practices and tips.
RASMAS members share insights, best practices and collective wisdom on how to manage and improve the recall process. To that end, members can post their own advice, or ask for help in locating replacement products. RASMAS doesn’t just give information; it gives the staff at member facilities a vehicle to communicate with others about alerts, product safety improvements, and participate in educational forums.
Healthcare providers are a key part of our membership. Members who log into RASMAS not only check off recalled items that are removed from hospital and facility shelves, but they can email or contact other RASMAS members from across the nation to ask about replacement products.
As the RASMAS service grew, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors realized the benefits of joining RASMAS. They realized that the speedy removal of goods from the supply chain benefits all. Supplier members take advantage of the fact that they can talk directly to the front-line person who uses their product and provide detailed information about the alert to specific audiences along with information on the return process. Suppliers also can post articles related to product safety for the RASMAS community.
